Communication with the parents and guardians of my students is highly important. This letter was sent out to the family members of my students when I first entered the classroom. In short, the letter tells a bit about myself, including my educational background and what I will be doing within the classroom. I intended for my passion of teaching to shine through. I wanted to ensure the parents of my students that their children are in good hands. With this letter parents were more able to know about myself and the reasoning behind me being in the classroom this semester.

Communication with Home
Keeping in constant communication with the families of my students is something in which I find to be very important. Something in which I have done within my own classroom is taking over the newsletters that are sent to my students' parents. I find newsletters to be extremely important, as they keep our parents informed about upcoming events, projects and most importantly what is happening within our classroom. Parents will be aware of student expectations and what our students will be learning in the upcoming weeks. Within my own classroom I intend to send these out biweekly.

Continuing to Grow
Teaching is a profession in which we continue to learn and grow in every single day. As we execute lessons, learn about new studies, concepts, and strategies we expand our repertoire of teaching tactics. I believe that teaching is a never ending learning experience. As a teacher I intend to attend as many professional development opportunities as possible because as we continue to grow so do our students. I have attached a lesson plan that I began the year teaching. Now at the end of the semester I have looked over the lesson plan and revised it to better fit the needs of my students. I also have attached an example of a lesson plan that has been developed and edited over time. Both examples show how important growth and development within lesson planning can be in a classroom.
